Audio Controller Rack
Frustrated by the 50 different audio controllers on my desk, I decided to mount the most-used ones in a blank rack panel and slot them into my mastering-style desk.

Upgraded from my old/small jointer and planer to much more massive ones, so the flip-top cart I built before wasn't going to work.
Made a much sturdier version out of plywood scraps and 2x4s, and purchased some retractable workbench casters to enable movement. The space below will be customized for additional tools down the road.
Oriented the machines so there would be room for the bed extensions I'll eventually need.

The problem with a mastering-style desk is that it's a slanted surface that presents only knobs. Thought it'd be useful to have a temporary flat area for testing equipment, putting a laptop there for non-studio work, etc.
Built from plywood scraps. Exact width of one rack bay, with runners that sit on the inter-bay supports. Cleat on the back to keep it from sliding down the angled desk, and a lip on the front to keep any equipment in place. Enough room underneath for almost double the tallest knob on my current equipment.
Unfinished for now. Planning to finish with black stain and polyurethane to match the rest of the desk.

Needed another one of these. Used some templates I created last time, and measurements from an existing one to re-create the process.
3/4" plywood, 84hp TipTop audio rails, and 8U of rack space for my Sherman Filterbanks.
Adds another 252hp for 3U modules and 84hp for 1U modules. New totals: 1440hp@3U and 272hp@1U.
