Mastering Desk Shelf
The problem with a mastering-style desk is that it's a slanted surface that presents only knobs. Thought it'd be useful to have a temporary flat area for testing equipment, putting a laptop there for non-studio work, etc.
Built from plywood scraps. Exact width of one rack bay, with runners that sit on the inter-bay supports. Cleat on the back to keep it from sliding down the angled desk, and a lip on the front to keep any equipment in place. Enough room underneath for almost double the tallest knob on my current equipment.
Unfinished for now. Planning to finish with black stain and polyurethane to match the rest of the desk.
