Door and Laundry Vent
My dryer used to vent into my garage, which was apparently a car port at some point in the past. Now that it's a (relatively) enclosed garage, it rusted the beautiful cast iron tops on all my stationary tools. I spent some time re-routing the exhaust to the outside.
I thought it'd be a really good idea to build a step over the duct to protect it, just in case anyone ever accidentally stepped on it. Kept putting it off, and then a year and a half later I was running up the steps and slipped, landing right on the duct ducting, bending it beyond repair.
Replaced the ductwork, and then finally built a step over it.
